I had no idea what to expect when I moved to Jeju, but every day I am amazed at how much I love this new home of mine. It’s the people, the scenery, the island life, the beaches, the community…it’s just such a beautiful place, I don’t know how life post-Jeju can compare!

“It don’t mean much if it isn’t fun.”

Jeju is an amazing place, so take it all in while you’re here. Learn to read Korean (it’s easy, even if you don’t know what you’re reading), eat as much Korean barbecue as you can, and don’t be afraid to try new things while you’re here.

it is so important to have an open mind. We are expats living in a different country with different practices and worldviews.

I helped out with beach cleanups for BVB10 and baking for raffle prizes for various events, but really have become more involved now with fundraising for BVB11 and coordinating an event for the summer of 2014.

I love the community that Furey forms at every event and I want to give back somehow.

it’s awesome how Furey gets everyone out on the beach or at the soccer fields for a fun day or weekend of sports as we raise money to support Jeju families.
I’m bummed that I only have a few more events (and one more BVB) before I leave the island!

winning the Badminton tournament in 2013 at 11:30 PM after almost 12 hours on the court. Seriously, who doesn’t love to win!?
